Inspection or audit

The certifier will evaluate whether  the certified wood flow in  the company is separated from the rest of the wood.

This is done using:

• Desk research: the company gives to the certifier the reports on the management system.
• company visit: the certifier will have a viewing of the storage and processing areas of the forest, the sawmill, or factory, will talk to the staff and  will view the documentation.

Aspects of assessment include:

• reports and notes on certified products (incl. delivery note and invoice)
• measures to brand and separate products (such as tags, paint markings, barcodes)
• administrative procedures (written rules and steps for separating timber flows)
