Initiatives by Users

In several countries, including the Netherlands, Germany and the United States they have a group of companies who have founded a buyersgroup. The companies involved in these groups are trying to increase the market share of certified wood and certified wood products by increasing awareness of FSC certification and supporting projects in producer countries. These activities  increasing  both the demand and supply of FSC timber,  and thus contribute do business in a  socially responsible way (CSR).

Global Forest Trade Network (GFTN)
Through the Global Forest Trade Network, launched by WWF, more than 15 groups of companies are active with  environmental organizations. Their  mission  is to expand the share of FSC wood in the international timber market. Several of these groups are producersgroups. They are supported by WWF in improving their forest management and development of marketing strategies for FSC timber.
